Danish Initiative: ODIS Competition
The Danish IT and Telecomm Agency, ITST, organized a competition to stimulate the re-use of open government data in the fall of 2009, called ODIS. ODIS stands for Offentlige Data i Spil ('bringing public data into play').
Winners were announced at the ODIS conference in Copenhagen on February 4th 2010.
The three winners were:
Husetsweb (http://www.husetsweb.dk/), which helps you identify and plan/finance opportunities for energy saving in your private home. Based on data on the materials used in your house, it's age and location etc.
Politisk Data API, by Michael Friis, an API to access different sources of political data in Denmark. Functions as the base for sites like Folketsting.dk and Hvem stemmer hvad (Who votes what?).
Public Toilet info (http://www.findtoilet.dk/) by Tine Muller. A map with the location and information about all public toilets in Denmark.
Prizes were presented by the Danish Minister for Science Helge Sander.
