How Can You Help?

If you can and want to help make OurData.eu more comprehensive and more valuable to European citizens, you are very welcome to.

These are the ways you can help:

Giving us Pointers

We collect three types of pointers:
- pointers to data sources;
- pointers to initiatives to stimulate opening up gov data, and the reuse of it;
- pointers to examples of reuse and mash-ups.

All pointers need to be from European countries (our definition of Europe includes Russia and Turkey).

For examples of what we mean see data sources, initiatives, and mashups.

Not registered, add comment
If you do not want to register at OurData.eu, you can simply add your pointers as a comment at the right country page. We will put your comment on our todo list. In your comment please leave a short description, containing language, type of pointer, URL, and any other info you think is important.

Registered, add comment
If you are registered, but don't have much time to edit anything yourself, you can leave a comment at the right country page as well. We will put your comment on our todo list. In your comment please leave a short description, containing language, type of pointer, URL, and any other info you think is important.

Registered, edit country page
If you are registered, you are also able to edit country pages. So you can put the pointer on our todo list yourself. Please leave a short description, containing language, type of pointer, URL, and any other info you think is important.

Registered, add item
If you are registered you are also able to add items on sources, initiatives or mash-ups. Have a look at other entries on data sources, initiatives, or mashups, to see how they are styled. Try to follow the same structure. Please put in a short description, containing language, type of pointer, URL, and any other info you think is important, as well as a screenshot or logo if possible. Make sure you construct the title the same way as other entries. Always add at least two tags to any item: the country, and if it's a Initiative, a Mashup or Datasource you are describing.

Become a National Contact

We would love to work together with native speakers from all European countries. Finding and adding pointers, maintaining relevance and quality of the information provided here is so much easier if we can work with people on the ground.
If you would like to join us as a national contact, leave your name at the relevant country page and/or e-mail Ton Zijlstra at ton [dot] zijlstra [at] gmail.com.
If there are already 'national contacts' listed for your country, do not hesitate to still add your own. With more people we will be able to do more.

Help With the Design

This site is functional, but we could do with a better design. We kept it relatively simple, using the Zen template for Drupal. However if you want to help us create a clean and attractive design, and you know your way around CSS, please let us know. Send e-mail to Ton Zijlstra at ton [dot] zijlstra [at] gmail.com.
